Be Still...
Be still (unmoved, to cease, quiet) and know (deeply, intimately) that I AM GOD. Did you breathe deeply as you read these words? Did you sigh a quick prayer of thankfulness? The simpleness and complexity of this short verse always causes me to take a step back and evaluate. I cannot be still if I don't KNOW God. I cannot KNOW God if I don't believe He exists. Do I know God? Do I desire to know God? Do I believe he is who he says he is? If we can affirm the answer to these questions, we are still yet again. He really is who he says he is: GOD Upon affirming these truths, we are then able to be still and remember who he is throughout his story from creation on. Remembering his trustworthiness in the stories of people who also knew Him. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Esther, Mary, the disciples, and His own Son.
