Be Still...

Image
Be still (unmoved, to cease, quiet) and know (deeply, intimately) that I AM GOD. Did you breathe deeply as you read these words? Did you sigh a quick prayer of thankfulness? The simpleness and complexity of this short verse always causes me to take a step back and evaluate.   I cannot be still if I don't KNOW God.   I cannot KNOW God if I don't believe He exists. Do I know God?   Do I desire to know God?   Do I believe he is who he says he is?   If we can affirm the answer to these questions, we are still yet again. He really is who he says he is: GOD Upon affirming these truths, we are then able to be still and remember who he is throughout his story from creation on.   Remembering his trustworthiness in the stories of people who also knew Him. Noah,  Abraham,  Isaac,  Joseph,  Esther,  Mary,  the disciples,  and His own Son. He has always been faithful , trustworthy , just , loving , merciful , holy , etc. As we remember, we know.  These tra

Little hands. Little feet. Running. Jumping. Laughing. Squealing. Accepting. Sharing (most of the time). Joy. Love. Energy. Have you guessed who I may be talking about yet?   Here are some more hints!    They love to play and imagine.   They love to sing songs about Jesus. They love to be loud and laugh.   They love play-dough but at times mistake it for a snack. They love running, jumping, and twirling. They love stories. They love hugs (especially when they get hurt). They love to be the leader. They love to have adults love them. Have you guess who I am talking about yet?   If you guessed 2 & 3 year olds ...you were right!   Little kids are amazing.   If you engage them in play, they will love you forever.  They will bake you brownies and mac-n-cheese in the play kitchen, build you a fort out of blocks and sing your baby to sleep...all with a HUGE grin.   Can you hear the squeals and giggles already?   Its contagious isn't it??   I'll b

Sleepovers at 950 Woodfield

Last week I decided to have my three oldest nieces (sorry Presley) over for a sleepover in my new apartment.  They thought the couch/bed thing was amazing however my choice of "The Little's" for a cartoon movie was NOT a hit (even I thought it was creepier than I remembered).  One of the joys of being an aunt is letting them stay up late, giving them pop for breakfast and letting them "run the show".  If only they would let Aunt Sarah sleep in!   Watching Movies! Breakfast of champions before hitting the beach!    Who doesn't like a good ole' Town Club soda! Bacon-pancakes...a hit!
